<p>Whenever you visit Velturno, you will be overwhelmed by the impressing vistas offered by this varied landscape, crowned by the towering DOLOMITE-RANGE. Your eyes can wander from the velvety-green vineyards below the village up to flowering mountain-meadows and the Feldthurner Alm (2.500 m above sea-level!).
Velturno is a true hiker’s paradise for all seasons – enjoy sunny late-winter days and the first spring-flowers, the blush of alpine-rhodondendron in full bloom in July or golden fall-days and the horn-of-plenty “Toerggelen”, a bucolic harvest-custom that is a “must”. <p> Only approx. 50 m above our house you can enter the unique <b>CHESTNUT-PATH</b>, following sun-dappled chestnut-forests from Vahrn near Brixen along the flanks of the Eisack-valley via the Rittner-heights and its famous mud-pyramides down to the Bozen-basin ending at the legendary <b>Runkelstein-castle</b> – this route would be a wonderful initiation to the beauties of the CHESTNUT-PATH. In addition to the breathtaking vistas along the CHESTNUT-PATH during the fall season, it is a <b>fascinating discovery-tour for nature-lovers</b> in other seasons also. </p>
